    Don't boil your dog!

Dryland training comes with one of the greatest health hazards for sled dogs — overheating. A condition that could rapidly turn into a matter of life or death, unless you know how to prevent it, spot the early warnings signs, and treat it correctly.

Therefore, as responsible dog owners, trainers, mushers, and handlers, it is absolutely crucial to understand how temperature and humidity will impact the health, and performance of your sled dog.

    In this webinar we'll discuss:
    • The relation between humidity, temperature & mushing
    • How to avoid overheating your dog
    • The signs of overheating, heat exhaustion & heat stroke
    • Emergency care for overheated dogs

    About this Webinar

    It’s Cold & Sticky - on temperatures & humidity

All dog sports come with their own risks of injuries. The sled dog sport is no exception to this. A sled dog may hurt a paw, strain a muscle or even break a leg if you're unlucky. But the greatest — and, unfortunately, also the most overlooked — risk of them all, is spelled overheating

Every dryland season, our inboxes and social media sled dog forums are filled with questions and stories of dogs suffering from heat related injuries. And every year, too many dogs fall victim to overheating, due to the owner's lack of knowledge. We want to change that!

This informative and interactive webinar is our way to spread the knowledge ALL dog owners need — and all mushers should have, before running dogs.

Spend an hour with us, and we will make sure that you walk away equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the key risks associated with temperatures and humidity, how it affects the health and performance of your dog, and what to do if your dog overheats.

This could be the webinar to save your sled dog's life. Can you afford to miss it, really?

    Damian Sherman

Living in the UK, you cannot help but become quite familiar with wet weather. The humid climate will often turn dog training into a bit of a challenge. Even during the cold winter months, trainings must sometimes be skipped because of the risks that come with damp air.
Learning about the impact humidity and temperature has on our dogs is therefor an important part of being a responsible musher and dog owner. Now it's time to pay it forward, to make sure the knowledge is spread.

My name is Damo, and I'm the MeMush instructor you'll meet on the webinar It's Cold & Sticky.
